Wise Steps, Good Future - A message from Carolyn Hoessler

Carolyn delivered the message one Sunday over the summer when the minister was on holiday; as part of her reflection she asked the congregation to write down a hope/ wish under the question “Where do you want to go” and what we thought the first step to getting there would be under “First Step to get there”. In Our Vision on this website you have the opportunity about the history of Faith United Church and the development of its Vision. Some of you will have been around for the whole life of this congregation and can honestly say, ‘I remember all of that.’ Others will read the piece and say, ‘Oh, I remember that but I didn’t know that!’ One of the beauties of the history of a congregation is that all of us are a part of it. A Sacred Walk - A message from our minister Geoff Carr

Many years ago in Calgary, a gentleman named Wes came up to me after church and said, “Geoff, in celebration of my 70th birthday next year a friend and I are going to walk El Camino de Santiago de Compostela.” I had never heard of this pilgrimage. The Camino is an ancient pilgrim’s trail that winds its way across northern France and Spain. The Way of St. James is the pilgrimage to the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in northwest Spain, where legend says that the remains of the apostle Saint James are buried.
